Achillea millefolium plant

Achillea millefolium (Yarrow) 9 cm Pot

€ 4.00
A hardy perennial herb valued for its traditional roles in supporting fevers, circulation and minor bleeding, and well suited to temperate medicinal and wildlife-friendly gardens.
Description

Growth habit & appearance: Yarrow forms clumps of finely divided, feathery foliage and produces flat-topped clusters of mainly white, occasionally pink-tinted flowers. Plants typically reach around 60 cm in height and form an informal ground layer.

Growing conditions: This hardy perennial thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers well-drained soil. Once established it has moderate drought tolerance. Supplied in a 9 cm pot, suitable for borders, meadow-style areas and medicinal gardens.

Traditional & herbal uses: Traditionally used for colds, flu and fevers, to regulate heavy periods, support healthy blood pressure, and help to stem minor bleeding due to its astringent and anti-inflammatory properties. Also used for digestion and mild circulatory congestion.

Garden & design value: A reliable, wildlife-friendly perennial whose flowers attract pollinators. The fine, aromatic foliage adds texture and structure to cottage gardens and naturalistic planting schemes.

Maintenance & harvesting: In spring, divide mature clumps and replant. In summer, harvest flowers and young leaves when in full bloom; deadhead to limit self-seeding. In winter, cut back old stems to tidy the plant and encourage clean growth the following year.
