This 2 day course is a hands on course for the anyone wishing to learn the specifics of making natural medicines for illnesses. Each attendee will be making and cooking up their own herbal medicines for a range of conditions from respiratory ailments, cardiovascular issues, musculoskeletal complaints, skin conditions, nervous system disorders, and digestive issues.
This is an in-depth course covering over 30 medicinal plants which can be easily grown or which are easily found traditional native wild plants. Each person will be making 6 remedies to take home from a selection of fresh herbs and herbal ingredients from our dispensary. There are other remedies demonstrated over the 2 days and lots of plant medicine tastings from our apothecary.
This is a fun, yet intense, course working with fresh plant material and fully hands on medicine making. It’s our favourite course to run, and has always been our most popular!
What you will learn:
• We will cover over 30 herbs – the most useful for 6 different systems of the body
• How to use these herbs for specific health conditions
• Methods of herbal medicine making ie: oils, ointments, creams, poultices, glycerites, vinegars etc.
• Nutritional care for various health conditions is discussed throughout the course

• Making 6 remedies from fresh plant material from the gardens
• Demonstrations of additional remedies
• Tasters from our herbal apothecary of plant medicines
• Meeting the living plants in the Ivywood apothecary garden

This course includes a delicious hearty vegan lunch and teas/coffees and snacks on breaks.
Our medicinal plant nursery is open with plants to purchase during courses ran between May & October at Ivywood.
Course attendees are welcome to avail of short walks in the Ivywood woodland during lunch and tea breaks.
Please note this course is for over 16's. We CANNOT accommodate children accompanying course attendees.
