Maitake (Grifola frondosa) is an edible polypore mushroom recognised for its immune-modulating properties and metabolic regulatory potential.

Clinical studies have evaluated Maitake for its ability to support healthy white blood cell counts and modulate immune function. Beta-glucan-rich polysaccharide extracts from Maitake have also been investigated for their role in promoting blood glucose regulation and improving insulin sensitivity in metabolic disorders.
