This 2 day course is for herbal medicine practitioners, students and herb lovers wishing to gain a deeper insight into magical herbalism, working with the 4 elements, the temperments and astrology. The weekend includes a special guided plant meditation with Elisabeth around our outdoor fire at the woodland and herb garden.
The Traditional paradigm for Herbal Medicine in Europe follows the Hippocratic format of the Four Elements, Eart, Air, Fire and Water. These elements are associated with the seven planets of Western Astrology, as are local, indigenous herbs. Delving into these connections enhances your perception of the plants and how to work with them.
Over the weekend course we will discuss how to use astrology, the four temperments and the herbs to understand disease states, to treat them and prevent them. We will focus on how by understanding the temperments and the plants associated with them we can, as herbalists, chose our remedies with precision for the health and wellbeing of others.
The event is set in the Ivywood herb garden and apothecary. After the Saturday evening meal together, Elisabeth will take us on a guided meditation on the deeper nature of one plant. This immersive experience will take place around our outdoor fire by the woodland.
