Natural Healthcare For Children September 2026

This 1 day workshop teaches you natural healthcare for your child and how to make simple natural and herbal remedies for common ailments in children. We will discuss a number of conditions from recurring chest infections, digfestive disorders and viruses. You will be introduced to herbs for these conditions and easy to make home remedies from herbs and kitchen ingredients. We will also discuss how to incorporate immune boosting foods and herbs into your child's diet for better health. We will also discuss herbs and foods for hormonal health in the pre-teen and teen years. There will be tastings plus a recipe booklet and 3 remedies to take home. This course is ideal for parents and carers of children, young and older, and expecting mothers interested in natural healthcare.

What you will learn:

• Natural care and simple remedies for a range of common ailments in children
• How to incorporate immune boosting foods into your child’s diet
• Foods as medicine – how best to utilise everyday kitchen ingredients as remedies
• Recognising more serious illness in children – red flags and when to get help

• Demonstrations of how to make simple home/ herbal remedies for a variety of ailments
• Tasters of remedies made

• Recipe handout of range of easy to make remedies
• Samples of a herbal oil, herbal cream and herbal ointment made over the day

This course includes a deliciously health vegetarian lunch and teas/coffees and snacks on breaks.

Our medicinal plant nursery is open with plants to purchase during courses ran between May & October at Ivywood.

Course attendees are welcome to avail of short walks in the Ivywood woodland during lunch and tea breaks.

Please note this course is for over 16's. We CANNOT accommodate children accompanying course attendees. Breastfeeding babies are of course welcome.
